Chocolate Pecan Galette Recipe

A cheat's chocolate pecan pie: a flaky, flavorful chocolate pie crust with a simple pecan pie filling. A simple dish for a few.  

– 1 pie crust homemade or store-bought – 2 tablespoons butter – ⅓ cup dark brown sugar – 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar – ¼ cup maple syrup – 1 large egg – 3 tablespoons dutch process cocoa – 1 cup pecan – ½ cup chocolate chip – Pinch sea salt




Set the oven to 350 F and spread the pecans out on a baking sheet. This will toast the nuts.Toast them for 10 minutes if they are raw.

STEP  1 .

If they are already roasted, put them in the toaster for five minutes. This makes them taste better and crunchier. Before you put them in the filling, make sure they are cool.

Fill the shell: While the butter is melting, add the sugar, syrup, and cocoa to a pot. Whisk the mixture together until it's smooth. Add the egg, vinegar, chocolate chips,

pecans after it's cool. Put together the galette: Warm the oven up to 400 F. Put parchment paper on a cookie sheet.

Put some flour on the counter and roll out the dough until you have a circle that's about 14 to 15 inches across.

Put the filling in the middle and spread it to a two-inch border. Folding the crust over the filling doesn't have to be perfect.

Seal it tightly to prevent filling leakage. Sprinkle sugar over egg wash. Bake for 30 minutes. Heat and serve with ice cream.
