ANISE COOKIES

Anise Cookies are a traditional Italian anise-flavored cookie made with simple ingredients and topped with a tasty frosting. These cookies are so easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredient 

– 2 cups all-purpose flour – 1/2 teaspoon baking powder – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened – 1 cup granulated sugar – 2 large egg – 1 teaspoon pure anise extract – 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract – Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.

In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the anise extract and vanilla extract until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.

Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
